However, she is easily irritated, especially with younger cats. Sometimes she can't understand why they don't see things the way she does. Deep down, she's also a bit of a worrier, afraid of failing her clan.
HISTORY
Family:
- Rainfur - - Mother
- Cloudwhisker - - Father
- Fishtail - - Sister
History:
1-6 moons
Saltkit and her sister, Fishkit, were born to two proud warriors. Their kithoods were fairly uneventful, other than the usual kit trouble.
7-12 moons
Taking on the name of Saltpaw, she was apprenticed to senior warrior Crabclaw. He was a strict mentor who wasn't afraid to deal out punishments when he saw fit. Yet he was a good mentor, training her well.
When she was three moons into her training, the clans banded together to fight the hawks. Saltpaw, because of her young age and small size, stayed to protect the camp.
13-18 moons
Freshly named Saltfur, she continued to serve her clan proudly. When she reached her fourteenth mood, however, Fishtail drowned when she became lodged between a couple rocks, unable to reach the surface for air. The loss of her sister was devastating and instilled into herself a fear of drowning.
19-24 moons
Saltfur took on her first apprentice, Shellpaw. She was nervous to train her former mentor's daughter, but with plenty of guidance from the senior warriors she formed a strong, loyal warrior out of the once shy she-cat.
25-30 moons
Saltfur met her second apprentice, Coralpaw. With her previous experience, she trained the young tom well without any problems.
31-36 moons
Ripplenose, the former deputy of WaveClan, retired due to old age. Lightstar chose to appoint Saltfur as deputy because of her ability to keep a level head in the face of danger. Another influence in his choice was that Lightstar had grown up with her parents and had been very close with them, acting almost as a sort of godfather to Saltfur while she'd grown up.
37-42 moons
She found herself with her third apprentice, Bluepaw. The young tom proved to be a real handful, but he eventually earned his warrior status.
43-48 moons
When conflicts between GrassClan and WaveClan rose, Saltfur stepped in to lead many of the patrols. She received a few scars from border skirmishes, but managed to save some of her clanmates from the same fate that others suffered.
49-54 moons
The WaveClan leader dies from mysterious circumstances. Saltfur, now taking the name of Saltstar, suspects foul play from CliffClan due to the current tension between the two clans, but doesn't voice this idea.
55-present
Saltstar continues to lead her clan as the new leader, meeting each problem however she can.
RP SAMPLE
She paused at the edge of the grass, her maw open to take in the scents of the greenleaf day. Pinpointing the location of a rabbit, Saltstar couched low, shuffling forward until she could spot the fluffy little thing. She leapt, landing square on top of it. It didn't take long to dispatch it with a swift bite to the neck, and then she was burying it in the sand for later collection.
Saltstar straightened up to her full height, though it wasn't very tall what with her stumpy legs. She was closer to GrassClan territory than she liked, especially with the tension between them. Of course, relationships between WaveClan and CliffClan weren't particularly amazing, either. And, on that note, her clan wasn't exactly buddy-buddy with BrushClan, though there weren't any particular issues there. What happened to compassion and love? Surely there must have been some at one point. It didn't even cross her mind that, even if that had ever been a possibility, she wouldn't have her swimming abilities, which she and her clan relied heavily on.
Rather than search for more prey, she dug up her rabbit and turned back towards the general area of WaveClan's 'camp.'
---
The sunset had been beautiful enough to draw the WaveClan leader out of her little 'den'-- a sandy patch sheltered by some taller patches of grass. Saltstar padded out to meet the tide, purring with content. Most cats would find the wet sand between ones toes to be uncomfortable, but she - and the rest of her Clan, she was sure - loved it. She continued padding until she found a rock outcrop to dive off of into the water. The chill of the water didn't phase her, and constant practice had expanded her lung capacity to the point that she could stay under for what seemed to her like forever.
Paddling her way back to the surface, the same old feeling of dread hit her. Even though she was a practiced swimmer - more than Fishtail had been at the time of her death - Saltstar feared meeting the same fate. She didn't want to drown. The idea was enough to turn her back towards the beach, and she allowed the waves to carry her back to solid ground. Normally she wouldn't be so discouraged like this, but the troubles among the clans meant her clans needed her most now. Not lodged between some rocks underwater.
